Eye Tests

At A1 Eyewear, we understand the importance of maintaining healthy eyes.

Eye conditions develop slowly and can be painless, so many people don’t really notice any of the initial symptoms of deterioration. Poor eyesight may be an indication of the presence of serious eye complaints, and in some cases these may lead to severe health implications.

That’s why it is a vital part of your health check to have an eye test at least once every two years, and ensure your eyes are examined by a trained eye care professional.

What does an eye examination involve?

A1 Eyewear offer comprehensive eye testing, and our skilled optometrists are trained to distinguish anything that may indicate visual impairment.

When you come in for your eye test, our friendly team will go out of their way to accommodate your needs and make you feel comfortable.

Our tests last approximately 20-30 minutes. This will include the use of a range of equipment that will determine the quality of eyes in terms of focus, as well as uncovering any underlying potential dangers such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

We have retinal camera that takes a digital image of the retina to help monitor any changes at the back of the eyes. The image is stored on the practice computer, allowing us to retrieve previous images of your eyes and compare them to monitor any changes. This is included in our private sight test fee, and is available at a small supplement to NHS patients.

Once tested, our optometrists will guide you towards the best course of treatment to maintain the health of your eyes. They will then pass you over to our experienced opticians who will help you choose glasses to suit you perfectly.
